"The plan was to stay out of trouble if I was at the front or in the middle of the pack. Thats exactly what I did, I stayed off the rail and unfortunatly with 400 (metres) to go the pack swallowed me up and with 200 (metres) to go I got spit out the back and had to start the kick all over."

"I am just not happy with the last 100 (metres) today. Felt good up until then, just don`t know what happened."

"Pretty disappointed I mean its my second (World 09 and Olympics 08) semi-final; I don`t run to make semi-finals, I run to make finals and yea it is disappointing. The whole year has been good up towards this; probably one of my best years ever, I am strong, fit. Unfortunatly the one race that mattered just wasn`t there."
