Canadian Wheelchair 10km Championships
Michel Filteau of St-Jean Baptiste, QC and Diane Roy of Sherbrooke, QC were crowned the 2011 Canadian 10km wheelchair champions this past Saturday in Montreal, QC. Filteau crossed the line in 21:23.36 in the men’s race with Jean-Paul Compaore of Sherbrooke, QC taking the silver in 22:10.90 and Colin Mathieson, also of Sherbrooke, securing bronze in 23:36.41. In the women’s race Diane Roy won gold in 24:11.69 and Sarah White of Montreal, QC took the silver in 30:34.90.
Penn Relays
In the men’s 4x100m, Canada Black consisting of Justyn Warner, Richard Adu-Bobie, Segun Makinde and Mike Leblanc finished 5th in 39.85. The men’s 4x400m (Daniel Harper, Jonathan Reid, Tremaine Harris and Michael Robertson) placed 7th in 3:09.31. The women’s 4x400m finished in 5th (Adrienne Power, Amonn Nelson, Esther Akinsulie and Ese Omene) in 3:33.36. The men’s distance medley relay team finished in 6th (Jaden Ostapowich, Nathan Vadebonceour, Geoff Harris and Cameron Levins) in 9:35.46.
