Dylan Armstrong continues hunt for second Diamond League title

OTTAWA- Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops, B.C., continues his quest for a second straight Diamond League title on Saturday in England at the Aviva London Grand Prix. Armstrong competes at 2:30pm local time in his final competition before the Olympic Games in three weeks.

After four of seven Diamond League events Armstrong leads the way in the shot put standings with nine points. Reese Hoffa of the United States and Tomasz Majewski of Poland follow closely in second and third with eight and six points respectively.

Other Canadians in action

Newly minted Olympians Phylicia George (1 point) of Pickering, Ont., and Nikkita Holder of Markham, Ont., will line up in the womens 100-metre hurdles alongside fellow Canadian and 2010 Diamond League champion Priscilla Lopes-Schliep of Whitby, Ont., at 2:44pm local time. 

Australias Sally Pearson leads the women's sprint hurdles diamond race with 8 points, Brigitte Foster-Hylton of Jamaica is second with 5 points, Dawn Harper of the United States is third with 4 points.

Jean-Paul Compaore of Sherbrook, Que., will race in the mens wheelchair 800-metres at 2:30pm local time.
