2008 Penn Relays team named

OTTAWA – Athletics Canada announced today the team that will represent Canada at the 114th Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The competition takes place at Franklin Field, April 24-26.

Canada will be represented in the USA vs. The World competition by five teams.  Two teams will be entered in the men’s 4 x 100 metres relay, and one women’s 4 x 400 metres relay team will line up.  A women’s team will be entered in the sprint medley relay as well as a men’s team in the distance medley relay. 

The men’s 4x100 metre relay team won silver last summer at the Pan American Games held in Rio de Janeiro.  The team of Richard Adu-Bobie, Anson Henry, Jared Connaughton and Brian Barnett was edged out by host Brazil, but were able to defeat the Americans who would finish third.
