Athletics Canada names 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games Team

OTTAWA – Athletics Canada announced today the team that will be competing at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. The games will begin on October 12 with athletics taking place from October 14 to 16 at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City, a 153-acre sports complex.

This year will be a debut year for Canadian athletics at the Commonwealth Youth Games which are in their third year of competition.  Hugh Conlin, Director and Head Coach of Development Programs at Athletics Canada says; “We are looking forward to our first participation in the Commonwealth Youth Games. This fully funded opportunity will offer a great athletic and cultural experience to our young 18 and under development athletes.”
