Dylan Armstrong sets New Canadian Record at Olympic Games

BEIJING - Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops, BC finished fourth today setting a new Canadian record of 21.04m in shot put. Armstrong broke his previous mark of 20.92m which he set in May of this year.
Taking the gold medal was Poland thrower Tomasz Majewski with a throw of 21.51m. Christian Cantwell of the United States won the silver with 21.09m and Andrei Mikhnevich of Belarus won the bronze by one centimetre over Armstrong with a throw of 21.05m.
This is the best finish ever for Canada in the Shot Put and the best overall Canadian finish since the Olympic Games in 2000 where Kevin Sullivan placed fifth in the 1500m. .
