Saturday, August 16, 2008
Jessica Zelinka bettered her own Canadian record in the Heptathlon today at the 2008 Olympic Games. Zelinka earned 6490 points surpassing her previous mark set last year of 6343 points. With four personal bests in the 100m hurdles, 200m, Javelin and 800m she finished 6th overall.
"I`m off 10 points of my goal here (6500 pts) so I am very happy. After Europe where it didn`t go so well I wasn`t worried because my training was going very well to peak in August, and I did. I spent a great 2 days with my coach and we`re both very happy."
