Priscilla Lopes-Schliep wins Bronze

Priscilla Lopes-Schliep of Whitby, ON won the bronze medal today in the 100m hurdles at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Coming down to a photo finish Priscilla Lopes-Schliep took the Bronze with a time of 12.64 separating her from the silver won by Austrailia's Sally McLellan by thousandths of a second. The gold medal was won by Dawn Harper of the USA in 12.54 seconds.

"I feel like I've jumped out of my body; went to heaven and back." Says Priscilla. "This is a huge accomplishment, it went by so fast and here I am with a medal."

This is the first Canadian medal won in Athletics since 1996 when Donovan Bailey’s 100m and the Men’s 4x100m team brought home gold medals.
